
Dr. Kari Searls was born and raised in Iowa City, Iowa. She attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst for her undergraduate degree, majoring in Animal/veterinary sciences and minoring in History. During her time at UMass, she was very involved with the equestrian team and worked for the schools equine facilities.
She attended veterinary school at Iowa State University, where she had the opportunity to study abroad in Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands, participate in a number of clubs like the student chapter of AAEP, and work overnights in the large animal ICU. Kari completed a year-long equine internship at Alamo Pintado Equine Hospital in Los Olivos, CA after graduating veterinary school, rotating through anesthesia, surgery, medicine, imaging and overnights.
Dr. Kari has a strong interest in diagnostic imaging, emergency medicine, lameness and sports medicine and upper airway disease. When she’s not working, she enjoys hiking, kayaking and spending time with her dog, Naya. She’s looking forward to meeting clients and working with CVS!
