Dr. Samantha Hare was born and raised on Long Island, New York. She attended SUNY Delhi, where she received an associate degree in Veterinary Technology and became a licensed veterinary technician. During her time at SUNY Delhi, Dr. Hare had the opportunity to study abroad in South Africa and work with indigenous species, such as zebras, elephants and giraffes. She then attended St. Joseph’s College to complete her prerequisite courses for veterinary school.
Dr. Hare attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine located in St. Kitts and completed her final year at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. During veterinary school her main focus was mixed animal medicine. She was involved in many clubs and had the opportunity to become FAMACHA and AI certified. While living on St. Kitt’s, she volunteered and dedicated a lot of her time helping local Kittians in need, such as teaching children to swim or running clothing drives.
Some of Dr. Hare’s special interests include neurology, theriogenology, and ambulatory medicine. She enjoys working with many animals, but some of her favorites include cats, small ruminants, and camelids.
During her free time, Dr. Hare cherishes time with her family and furbabies (Mikey, her cat and Bozko, her bulldog). She loves hiking, fishing and camping in the summer and ski trips in the winter. Dr. Hare looks forward to meeting you and your animals! “Big or small, she will see them all!”.
